Nickel Plating

Accu-Labs has a robust selection of electrolytic nickel solutions used as both a barrier substrate and as a final coating in industrial metal finishing applications.

Nickel electroplating provides excellent wear and corrosion resistance. Accu-Labs nickel deposits meet  QQ-N-290, ASTM B689, AMS 2403, ISO 1458, and most OEM company specifications.

400 Electrolytic Black Nickel Process

Download Tech Data Sheet
Blacken 400 electrolytically produces a hard black uniform coating on nickel, copper, and brass. The primary function of Electrolytic Blacken 400 is decorative, however, it is used widely in the Automotive Industry to produce glare-free surfaces with an attractive appearance.

402 Electrolytical Black Tin-Nickel Alloy

Download Tech Data Sheet
Accu-Labs 402 is operated electrolytically to produce a dark charcoal black, tin-nickel alloy deposit. The Accu-Labs 402 can be deposited directly on nickel plated parts and also works very well over alloyed copper alloys in both rack or barrel plating applications.

Nilux Nickel Purifier For Non-ferrous Metallic and Organic Contamination Problems

Download Tech Data Sheet
Nilux Nickel Purifier is a nickel plating solution additive that corrects plating problems due to non-ferrous metallic contamination and organic impurities. This product is used for the following nickel plating problems:

  • Metallic contamination (zinc, copper and lead)
  • Low-current density dullnessPoor chrome coverage
  • Excess brightener
  • Low-step test results

Nilux Nickel Purifier additions will allow zinc to be co-deposited while maintaining a bright nickel plate throughout all current densities. An addition of 1 to 2 gallons of Nilux Nickel Purifier per 1000 gallons of plating solution is required for approximately 10 ppm zinc. Additional requirements over 0.25% are best determined by hull cell evaluations.

Nilux Nickel Purifier Z For Non-ferrous Metallic and Organic Contamination Problems

Download Tech Data Sheet
Accu-Labs Nickel Purifier Z is a nickel plating solution additive that corrects plating problems due to non-ferrous metallic contamination and organic impurities.  Accu-Labs Nickel Purifier Z is used for the following nickel plating problems:

  • Metallic contamination (zinc, copper and lead)
  • Low-current density dullness
  • Poor chrome coverage
  • Excess brightener
  • Low-step test results

Accu-Labs Nickel Purifier Z additions will allow zinc to be co-deposited while maintaining a bright nickel plate throughout all current densities. An addition of 1 to 2 gallons of Accu-Labs Nickel Purifier Z per 1000 gallons of plating solution is required for approximately 10 ppm zinc. Additional requirements over 0.25% are best determined by hull cell evaluation.

Accu-Labs Nilux A-60 Non-Pitter

Download Tech Data Sheet
Nilux A-60 Non-Pitter is widely used in nickel plating applications, particularly in air-agitated bright nickel plating. The A-60 Non-Pitter has also found usage in various plating baths, in which its non-foaming characteristic is necessary, such as in sulfamate nickel or in dull watts type nickel. Since the A-60 Non-Pitter is compatible in most alkaline solutions, it finds uses in various metal finishing applications.

Accu-Labs Pits Be Gone

Accu-Labs Pits Be Gone is a surfactant mixture specifically formulated for air-agitated nickel plating. Accu-Labs Pits Be Gone is a concentrated, low-foaming additive that is compatible with virtually all types of electrolytic nickel plating baths.

Use Accu-Labs Pits Be Gone to reduce surface tension, thereby improving coverage and rinsing of recessed surfaces and dense loads. Accu-Labs Pits Be Gone is also used to reduce or virtually eliminate pitting and speckling caused by surface gassing.

Additions of Pits Be Gone should be made in 0.05-0.10% by volume amounts (200-400 mils of Pits Be Gone per 100 gallons of tank solution) … up to a useful maximum of concentration range of 0.10-0.30% by volume.
